    Hi everyone,
I am a new user and first time poster here.
I purchased the boxed version of True Image 11 and installed it from the CD as instructed. Selected the regular (not custom) install.
After install, rebooted as required and after boot, I clicked on the new Acronis icon on the desktop. After a long time I got the message (from Visual C++ library) "Runtime was requested by the application to terminate it in an unusual way".
I run win xp home edition and my computer has 500MB on board memory. Computer was updated with the latest MS updates.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Mike

Your retail copy may not be the most recent build. Under the Help/about, what build is listed. I believe 8101 may be the latest. When you register your serial number, you have access to a free download of the latest version.

Once you have the most recent version, be sure and create a TI Rescue CD as per the link below.

Un-install any previous version before installing any newer version.

    Thanks guys!
My boxed version is 8022, and I updated to the latest version after registering, but the problem persists.
seekforever: thanks for the reference. I made a search before posting but was unable to discover the link you referred to. However, the advice from Acronis looks long and a little complex...so to say.
Anyway, I will try to follow it.
    Thanks again,
    Mike
