I've been reviewing ATs and feel the list below is what constitutes a great AT.

Can TrojanHunter do the following (that BOClean does):
(This is a good list to gauge effectiveness of an AT)

    -Detects backdoors and rootkits
-Has instant detection before trojan infection
-Monitors memory signatures, registry, and file system for trojans
-Detects compressed, encrypted, modified, and wrapped trojans
-Effectively unpacks (unwrap, decompress, etc.) trojans in memory for detection
-Protects against instant-connect, polymorphic, and mutating trojans
-Safely neutralizes threats from memory, hard disk, and registry
    -Able to disconnect threats
    -Make me happy :)

    Thanks!

A program like PG or appdefend stops them if installed before anything else on a fresh system.

A program like shadowuser, firstdefence, deepfreeze, ms shared toolkit will stop them after reboot but not while still in current session.

Boclean has great detection, and regrun platinum has great protection and will show you the rootkit files.
