TrendMicro Sysclean & Malware Removal

I have not yet had a chance to try out TrendMicro Sysclean on an Infected PC. Please share your experiences with TrendMicro Sysclean.

1. Is Sysclean good about not having false positives?

2. If I were to use both Sysclean and AVZ Antiviral Toolkit which would you use first?

3. I realize that no Anti-Malware software is 100% effective. Does Sysclean clean enough of the Malware to be able to get the machine up to speed so that other Malware Cleaners can be used to polish things up?

4. Is it always best to run Malware Removal Programs in Safe Mode? I assume it is for badly infected PC's.

What I am looking for is a simple and relatively effective way to clean an infected PC without throwing away a lot of time. I have almost no experience with cleaning an infected PC with the exception of one time that I wasted many hours trying to clean an infected machine (~1,000 various malware). I was using programs like Ad-Aware and Spybot and the PC seemed to be re-infecting itself while I was trying to clean it up. Eventually, I just formatted and started over.
