TROJ_SMALL.ALT is a non-destructive trojan that is not currently spreading in the wild. This trojan propogates via email and is currently infecting systems that run Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000,and XP.

This non memory-resident Trojan may arrive as an email attachment. Upon execution, it downloads a copy of itself as SVCHST.EXE in the Windows Temporary folder. It also downloads another malware from the following site: http://www.zaminb{BLOCKED}.net/ftp/file.exe

This Trojan also saves the malware file in the Windows Temporary folder with an 8-letter random name, which Trend Micro detects as TSPY_AGENT.TX.

TROJ_SMALL.ALT uses the following aliases: Download.Trojan, and Downloader-YZ.

If you would like to scan your computer for TROJ_SMALL.ALT, or thousands of other worms, viruses, Trojans and malicious code, visit HouseCall, Trend Micro's free, online virus scanner at: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

TROJ_SMALL.ALT is detected and cleaned by Trend Micro pattern file #2.719.00 and above.
