Yes that isn't good of course. If they could be as good at on-demand detection as they are on blocking URLs then it would be one heck of a product :D

Though you could send Trend an e-mail and ask why they don't collect the malware from the sites that they put on the block list. If you do then let us know what they say :)

I am uncertain if they will tell me their trade secret :ninja:. My previous experience with their support was not good.

Nope I was never able to get one to work. I think I found an email in one of these Wilders threads but as far as I was aware Trend Micro never added detection to any of them sent via email so I just stopped sending them.

I am using it. But on testing fresh links from malc0de/MDL norton seldom blocks any while clear cloud used to block many. Trend Micro is even better than what Vipre/Clear-Cloud does/did.

I am unaware of Eset's Web-shield's performance. Never tried their product in real-time except the online scanner which is my companion on-demand scanner.:thumb:

Hmm, a good idea I guess. Having a Trend Micro DNS service, since Trend Micro is damn good at blocking malicious URL's. Basically, it is the only thing they are good at :D.

I understand. From my experience it's very good.
Now let's not go Off topic this is about Trend Micro not ESET. I just wanted to say my wish ;)

BTW now you got one more reason to send Trend Micro an email.
Requesting a Trend Micro DNS Service :D

Though if one uses their Browser Guard software isn't that almost like using their URL Blocking but through a client/agent ?

Edit: Answer to my own question... No it's not, since it doesn't actually Block URLs from what I have read.

Hehe I was just going to check a site here: http://global.sitesafety.trendmicro.com/result.php
    BUT...
I'm curious to know if anyone else have seen that before?

I like that they are very proactive :D

I have seen it a few times, they are normally pretty quick in ranking sites and services. The first time I scanned my blog it said they had never seen it before and would check it out. The next time I went and had it check my blog it was already rated and classified.

Yes that's good. More vendors should scan the sites one wants to check if they are unknown at that point :thumb: Thanks.

This Web Protection Add-on might be of interest to some. It sounds interesting.
