What does it mean when the FD icon has a red X over it?

It's not a good sign, I think it means that FDISR isn't ready to function properly, when it is a permanent red cross of course. This cross only appears on reboot and disappears after a short time.
I would restore an image or
    - uninstall FDISR without removing snapshots
    - re-install FDISR
    Let's hope it works.

The X ususally means the monitor service isn't running. Barring real problems a reboot solves it.
