Is it safe to add an adblocker to TOR? I was thing more of tracking protection by something like Privacy Badger. Edit: Privacy Badger probably wouldn't work in TOR anyway as I've found you need to enable first-party cookies and TOR uses Private Browsing Mode.
I believe it would increase your browser fingerprint. Tor also advises against these kind of addons: Read '2.3 Philosophy - #5 no filters': https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser/design/
Thank you. Got it. Privacy Badger doesn't use a filter list though but I understand your valid point.
One of the ways to verify the Tails OS file download is to install the Tails browser addon. If your using Tor browser wouldn't that increase your fingerprint?
According to Tor theory, it probably would, but it is as well made by a developer that is conscious about this matter and actually only exist for this matter in its general sense. But eitherway it is still just a one-use addon that I see no reason to keep after getting what you looking for. as for fingerprinting, Tails admits that the TailsOS makes it clear that you're using Tor and probably using TailsOS itself.. They have good documentation that you may find useful for further info: https://tails.boum.org/contribute/design/verification_extension/#index3h1 https://tails.boum.org/doc/about/fingerprint/index.en.html https://tails.boum.org/doc/about/warning/index.en.html#index5h1
@lofac Thanks lofac. My focus was on the time one installs the addon, verify the Tails downloaded ISO and then discards the addon when done while using the Tor browser. Probably needs discussing in another thread since this thread is about Tor browser updates.
