    Hi to all 9x users,

There is a small bug in 9x version of nod32b2 (all releasses including b5
:(), discovered after b5 was released. Therefore, you might not be able to
automatically upgrade program components to new version, if you are using
other update server than www.esetsoftware.com (one of the preset servers).
So, if you encounter such problem, you can switch your update server to
www.esetsoftware.com and you should be able to upgrade automatically. The
problem itself will be fixed in next release.

    Thanks,

    jan

hello jan, would this have anything to do with the problems i had and not being able to update, after i installed the beta versions from 2 on?? ie. the errors i kept getting with updating?
because i had to go back to version 1. would be nice to be able to use the new version once it goes out of beta!!
thanks for all your help. :D ;)

It's possible - I don't know from which server are you updating - have you tried the www.esetsoftware.com too?

    Best wishes, :)

Interestingly - we are using 98SE on this computer and v2beta5 is running alright including updates. If it makes any difference - when we installed this beta at the beginning we specified www.esetsoftware.com.

    Best wishes.

What beta are you running? Please post the content of the NOD32 CC>NOD32 System Tools>Information from that machine.

    Thanks, :)

Since we posted anyway we want to re-iterate we have no problems with automatic update. We do have one question, though. Should we find NOD32 going to any other site besides www.esetsoftware.com for updates? This is how we have the settings directed. We have found nod32krn.exe wanting to go to 62.168.97.102 which is also known as sun.uid0.sk. Here is some other information about them:
    CITY: BRATISLAVA
    STATE: ZAPADOSLOVENSK (region)
    COUNTRY: SK

    What info can you share?

    Hi QSection,

    here is some info:

one of the possibilities is that if there is another security software on the machine installed (e.g. a firewall) it can block the access to the update files. Some of the update files have been moved to a new server (sun.uid0.sk) - so in such a case it's needed to set up an access permission to that server in the another security software.

    Thanks, :)

    Hello Jan,

I am also having an update problem on Win98. Below are my details and a screenshot of what I see. It says there is an update available, but the size is always listed as zero bytes. I have tried all three default servers, disabled firewall and rebooted and still no luck. For what it's worth I have not had any problems with autoupdate until now.

Edit: BTW when I select yes nothing is downloaded.
