My question is, can a TIB image file on a
external HDD be burnt to a DVD-R for storage?

My reason for asking is, when the external
drive starts filling up with TIB files, I figured
I can burn them to DVD to store and free
up space on the external HDD.

Using this method, if I need to re-image a
drive with one of the files stored on the DVD,
I could transfer the TIB file stored on the DVD
    back onto the external HDD.

I am not looking to creat a bootable DVD.

Hope this makes sense, I'm not to good at
    putting my thoughts into words.:)

Shouldn't be any problem, just be sure that your files will fit on a DVD.

Sure, no problem, but if your images are larger than one DVD disk (4.3GB) then split the image at 1492MB when making the image. Three 1492MB pieces fit nicely on one DVD without any questions about files too large for ISO specs, etc.

    Thanks for the replys!

I did not think there would be any
harm done to the files, but I was not
    100% sure.
