I just purchased a Seagate 80GB hard drive and tried to use TI 8 build 768 to clone my old 40GB drive to the new seagate drive.

Everything seemed to go ok until I switched the drives (Master to slave and slave to master). The cloned drive will not boot. I am running Windows XP home SP1. The cloned drive appears to not have had the MBR copied over as the PC could not find a drive to boot from.

Is this a bug with TI 8 or am I missing something?

    Any help is apprecitated. :)

I tried different tools (Seagate Disk Install utility, etc.) as well as trying to install Windows XP directly onto the new drive. The funny thing is it always appears to go well until I try to boot from the new 80 gb drive.

The machine never see's it as a bootable device. I am starting to think it is a bios issue with the Compaq computer.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.
