Hi Ron,
I don't fully understand this. I thought that version 68.0 was already out (see posts from mood right above yours). Is version 60.9.0 to be considered as some kind of interim?

For short period of time there are parallel branches supported. 60.9 is based on 60.0 and just contains fixes. 68.0 is new branch containing not only fixes, but also new features. 60.9 is last release of version 60, so users should migrate to 68 in coming weeks anyway, because there will be no more updates. This overlap is for migration and some last minute feedback by users who do clean install of stable Thunderbird release.

Although you can update to Thunderbird 60.9.0 via the program, for anyone who wants/needs the setup file, it's available in any preferred version and language here:

I just manually checked for an update (using the internal updater) on version 60.9.1, and there was an update available to version 68.1.0

The release notes are still staying at https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/68.1.0/releasenotes/ :
"Thunderbird version 68.1 is only offered as direct download from thunderbird.net and not as upgrade from Thunderbird version 60 or earlier. A future version 68.2 will provide updates from earlier versions."

I may wait some time.
