    Hi all,

I'm using Thunderbird 2.0.0.23 with its antispam
Since I've installed ESET Smart Security 4.0.467, the antispam behaves strangely...
Sometimes spams are not detected, sometimes they are not moved in the spam directory, and sometimes, they are duplicated, one is moved and the other not...
I've tried to disable ESS antispam module, also tried to disable ESS POP3 protocol checking, but the problem is still there...

    Any idea is welcome.

    Thanks.

    Greg

If you receive email through IMAP and the server doesn't support UIDPlus extensions, try disabling scanning of received email and leave only read email to scan.

Check if the sender's addresses from unsolicited email are listed in the Whitelist. Such emails are not scanned for spam. You can also check the message headers to find out the spam score a particular message has received.

The thing is that I do not want ESS to manage spams because Thunderbird SpamAssassin does it very well. That's why I disabled antispam module of ESS, but still it seems to disturb Thunderbird...

You can disable integration with Thunderbird to remove the ESET plugin completely.

Yes I know, but I'd like ESS to check my mails...

POP3 checking will still be carried out transparently at a lower network level.

    Ah ok. I'm interested then!
    How do you do this?
    In ESS or Thunderbird?

    Thanks for your help.

With Thunderbird closed, open the main setup ESS setup (F5), navigate to Miscellaneous -> Email client integration and disable integration with Thunderbird.
