Bonzi Software Being SuedDarrell W. Scott, attorney of Spokane, Washington law firm Lukins & Annis, P.S., has filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of "all persons residing in the United States" who have encountered banner advertisements on the Internet that originated from Bonzi Software, Inc., the defendant. The case is based on the idea that Bonzi's advertisements are fraudulent in their imitation of Microsoft Windows error messages. The prosecution calls the company's advertisements "FUI," for "Fake User Interface." The advertisements--see them here: http://www.lukins.com/bonzi/index.php?pid=banners are thought to have been distributed 300 million times to various websites. Bonzi is one of the largest banner advertisers in the world, and its site is one of the most visited on the Internet. Scott explained the case thus: The Internet has unfortunately become a cornucopia for deceptive business practices. The apparent anonymity afforded by the Internet and the presumed difficulties of pursuing a wrongdoer who is literally half way around the world, have emboldened the unscrupulous. Deceptive practices that would quickly put a local corner businessman out of business have unfortunately become routine and profitable tools of the trade when business is conducted over the Internet. Class-based civil litigation will hopefully establish that the Internet is not, as some think, a sanctuary for those who engage in deception. ------- THREE CHEERS!!!!!!!! John Luv2BSecure
