I think that is a personal mather but ill try 2 give it a go.

Threatfire is very populair on here cus it seems very effective against zero day malware, its free. Only thing dat drove me away from it in the past were those useless, dumb n anoying fp's telling pretty much about every legit n common programs being keyloggers. So for me it is useless but i do believe most of those fp's have been fixed long ago but then i keep readin lately that its not good against keyloggers so if that is their main aim my faith is low.

DriveSentry is new, still needs alot of time n work 2 make it great but then again their support is unmatched n they do listen out 2 suggestions. All they need is plenty of loyal testers/customers who can help out. It's cheap n right now the fee is 1 time only with free program n signature updates 4 life. Its free without auto updating. Also i believe their concept is more advanced then that of many others:Large malware database, behaviour blocker/HIPS incl. whitelisting, etc(?) Kinda like Prevx wit support :thumb: Also have had zero false detections with it.

    Better at what?

Threatfire (TF) is a behavior blocker with antivirus signatures/on-demand-scanner and a whitelist. DriveSentry (DS)is, at heart, a classical HIPS with whitelist & blacklist.

+TF is better at set-it-forget-it use. It is quite stable & far advanced beyond beta stage.

+DS is better at protecting an experienced user, or a user who is industrious to do a bit of research once in a while. Compared with TF, DS covers a broader spectrum (such as file protection & registry protection) -- but at times it needs a goodly amount of user inputs in response to alerts. DS is fairly stable, but is less advanced beyond beta stage than is TF.

...an anomaly that contributes little if anything to this thread.
