mcafee does indeed have some cloud-based tech. they introduced it back in like 2007 or 2008 (artemis). i'm not sure whether they've formally changed the marketing name for it (it might be GTI now), but it's existed in one for or another in their product line since then.

I think i am right in saying that McAfees consumer offerings (AV/IS & TS) don't include the GTI functionality which is on offer to Business clients. I asked just now via Mcafee online chat on their website and the agent told me "Unfortunately, the GTI feature is only available in our business products. Our consumer products do not support this feature."

Nice, also good to finally have the report from the BCC test, that one had quite a delay.

    Absolutely.
But I question how they will test a program that contains threats rather than detects them?
Also, I see that KeyScrambler and HitmanPro are tested... it will be great to see both of these as well.

That's a good question about Sandboxie. The way I see them testing it will be seeing if malware will actually run and/or escape the sandbox. Left at default settings, Sandboxie will fail with browser exploits that try to run. So will malware ran in a created sandbox for testing purposes. Sandboxie contains damage, but it doesn't stop things from trying to cause damage unless you are willing to restrict what can run in the boxes and what can access the internet. I'm not certain applications like Sandboxie are compatible with the MRG ideal.

Sandboxie is tested in the new Online Banking Browser Security test that will be published tomorrow, the list of tested products for the Flash tests hasn't changed.

Applications that manage to catch everything at 'zero hour' are obviously commendable, it is reassuring however to see most vendors reacting quickly after 6 and 12 hours which are not extremely critical time windows.

Yep I missed that Eset has also improved greatly in the last 2 tests. Although I no longer use Eset.

So Emsi passes 0 hour and BD has 3 misses in the same test? Was the latest Emsisoft used which has the BD component? If so, was it Mamutu and/or the Emsi native sigs that caught the malware in the test as opposed to the BD sigs?

Their own signatures must have caught them. That's the thing with it being a dual-engine AV.
