I have played with all the above font selections. But the problem is still there.I can not think of any more solutions to this problem.Maybe I should wait for another update from the Xupdates team.Because there was no problem with Ubuntu 10.04.

Can you log in to a GNOME Classic (no effects) session? If so, what happens then?

I do not have the gnome classic I have to install it.I have Ubuntu,Ubuntu 2D and XFCE options to log on.

    sudo apt-get install gnome-session-fallback
    sudo apt-get install gnome-panel
Are these the right commands to install the gnome classic.

I got it because I installed gnome tweak tools aka Advanced Settings. Post-installation, you can log out and when you log in again you'll see that option. It may not solve your problem but ...

Cet, put up images of broken fonts in Chrome and Firefox and system menus. It may help someone figure out things. Are they equally bad in Unity 2D and 3D?

That suggests removing the Firefox profile folder. Cet has mentioned that with Unity 2D and 3D, the problem is not only with Firefox but also with Chrome and also with system menus.

I am happy with the XFCE and using Chrome.I will wait :)
I am afraid if XFCE updates to the next version I may get the same bug.So I will stay with XFCE 4.8 for now.

I had this font problem while using the Live CD but I thought that it was because of system working from the CD and lack of memory. Now this is a lesson for me to believe in the Live CD session lol.

Comment in the launchpad bug to let them know it affects you as well.
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/ source/mesa/ bug/751828

Or if you'd like to get a response faster than just waiting around, you can open a terminal and type
    Code:
    ubuntu-bug unity
and click "yes" when it asks if it's a graphical problem.
