I just registered hoping to get some answers to some questions about the software I found at wilders.org Questions like aren't SpyBlocker and Spystopper the same thing? and Spyware Blaster the same as MRU blaster and Hijacker Blaster? Then you have Spyware Guard and the SpyBot Search And Destroy. I mean whats the best one to have? Which are the same?...thats confusing enough, But this forum is a doozie for newbies. I am throughly puzzled about how any of this works. I did look at the test forums and FAQs but that just further confused me. I guess im just slow.

most answers will be found there.
As for spyblocker and spystopper, they are from same person.
Second one issued for commercial market and not as powerful as spyblocker.

    Hi.

You asked about a lot of different spyware programs.

Some do over-lap but they all basically have their differences in how they work.

I have a lot of those programs. They are all very good.

Spyware Blaster is a program that you install, update periodically and run occasionally to install the "kill-bits".Easy to use and doesn't run in the system tray.(kill-bits don't allow malware to install)

Spyware Guard(same developer) runs as a monitor to intercept spyware.Another easy to use program.

Spybot Search and Destroy kills bots and has an"immunize" feature to protect also. It's a program with a lot of tools and features.

SpyBlocker filters out ads, spyware and a lot more. It's shareware, but reasonably priced.I never surf without it!

A side note on Spyware Blaster, it nows has an interesting new feature called System Snapshot. This is similar to sytem restore on Windows XP.

I hope that this helps you a little bit anyway. ;)

    Welcome ;)

First: all software as mentioned/is avialable from our main domain www.wilders.org don't have a specific dedicated forum over here - we are rather picky in that regard.

Second: on several of our other domains, you'll find extensive info as for the differences in regard to software you mentioned; one of them is Javacool Software, covering SpywareBlaster, SpywareGuard, MRUBlaster and several other ones. Point your browser to:

    www.wilderssecurity.net

and read all about them. None are the same, actually.

On our spyware page you'll find info and necessary links to main sites as well as possible dedicated forums in regard to other anti spyware software mentioned.

Hope this helps ;) - and aren't we all slow at times?

    regards.

    paul
