If a large company like M*****oft had bought (or was in the process of buying) SD that might explain this wall of silence. I find it strange that both sites are offering for sale the "updated" Shadow Defender 1.1.0.331 without explanation or apology to members, users and potential purchasers. Tony has visited this forum at times and would (if he is still involved) be aware of the confusion and break in confidence that the months of silence has caused.

What to do next? If there are secret negotiations in progress for the legitimate sale of Shadow Defender or a change of ownership in progress then contacting the authorities at this point might be premature...but if I have received no reply from shadowdefenderdotorg or shadowdefenderdotcom I think I will proceed in that direction...I think that I have given a reasonable amount of time for them to answer my question, which is, basically, "What is going on?"

I've not received a reply to my email to supportatshadowdefenderdotcom that I sent yesterday.

I am going to login to shadowdefenderdotorg today to see if they have given an explanation instead of removing my posts.

Interesting. I installed Win7 onto my system sometime in February. I just got around to reinstalling SD onto it last week. I used the install file that I used on my old XP system, one that I obtained sometime around January 2010. IT ALSO HAD THE NAME OF IGOR PAVLOV on it. I want to emphasize that this was without a doubt the same file that I used back in Jan.2010 when Tony was still around. I did not download anything; I used my old file that I had saved from my old system. o_O

I have an archive of almost all SD builds that I have collected. I can say that they don't all have the name Igor Pavlov on the installer. I'm not going to touch the latest build until I get a no BS explanation of what is going on. I think I know what has happened, and i'm usually right about these things. I'm not going to speculate until I hear something official.

I just looked at the 325 326 versions that have been sitting on my desktop since Tony released them and they also have Igor Pavlov's name. I suspect that must be the 7zip thing.

Igor Pavlov is the author of 7-Zip, there is a functionality that developers can use to make simple setup files. Same functionality exist in WinRar, WinZip etc. I think starting with 1.1.0.313 Tony used 7-Zip to create SD setup files.

I usually keep an archive of all software I have used. I have shadow defender 1.1.0.275, .314, .315, .320. .325. .325 x64. All of them have Igor Pavlov on the installer except for .275 which has Copyright (C) 2007-2008 Shadowdef...
Take a look at the screen shot of the .275 installer.

diskpt0.sys the .331 version has a digital signature, download the latest version is at sofpedia and download.cnet...and the official site ...
or someone totally broke, or someone totally bought...
may have a third solution, but is unlikely in my opinion.
I saw how all the "old"warez serials "work" and the version .331
simply Tony or did not have the strength to "fight" with warez or simply ceased to fight against windmills.

I don't think Tony stopped working on this because of piracy, but his departure was quite sudden indeed suggesting a myriad of causes for this. Lets hope for the best.

OT - I can't help but wonder what your sig says skokospa I can see its meant to be funny, but for the life of me I can't decipher the joke. Please PM me an explanation when you see this.

SD should just have an activation like SAS, it works very well and would no doubt limit allot of ~ Snipped as per TOS ~ thieves.

By the way, who is trying the new version? I think I'm going to give it a go pretty soon as the BSOD's are getting to me.

Well I installed Version 1.1.0.331 and no problems to report on Win 7 x64 it also accepted my license code clicked on the links and it takes me here http://www.shadowdefender.com/index.html so I don't know what's up? And Prevx doesn't see anything strange! I will report if there are any problems!
