278 is 32 bit but I'll look and see if I still have the 32 versions of 325 and 6. I'll at least try to get 325 for 32 bit in a couple of days, but if I find it sooner I'll post it.

Just talked to my buddy and he says the version of I think 325 32 bit he still has on his machine so I'll try and get a copy later. I used to have the older 32 bit files but thanks to 331 and Acronis those went down with the ship.

I totally forgot, I think the SD mod has all these files? Maybe the SD mod will put up a link to all these files?

    stay away bryanjoe.
    this new version is suspicious.

    it *could* contain malware.

Hi guys, I've tried Clean Slate, it seems like a good piece of software but there are too many features and options for my liking, nothing like the simplicity and ease of use of SD.

Also tried Wondershare Time Freeze v2.0.3 . This one seems good too but it lacks certain features that SD has. Also, its interface has a bug on Win7 systems with high resolution/custom font size settings: You can only see the top left part of its window so it's impossible to access menus or controls... Right-clicking the app and setting compatibility parameters doesn't solve it and there was no mention online of this issue anywhere. So I spent a little bit of time troubleshooting it and found that in order to see the whole window the user must go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display\Set custom text size (DPI), untick the "Use Windows XP style scaling" box (which is enabled by default) and log-off.

So I went back to my trusty SD v326 and as soon as I installed it and rebooted I got the familiar fileinfo.sys bbsod.   I've got this specific bbsod quite a few times in the past, but I am not sure if it is related to SD. Any input on this from more experienced users would be greatly appreciated!

I'm still not sure about what happens when you get a bbsod when in shadow mode. Are the shadowed drive(s) fully restored to their pre-crash state after a hard reset? Some fellow-users seem to think this is the case but with Tony gone I suppose we'll never know for sure...

Hi moontan, thanks for replying so fast :thumb: . I've been using 325 for months and still had BBSODs. That's why I went with 326 hoping that the beta would go easy on my board. At least on my system this is not the case, but then again my mobo is pretty old (DFI UT NF4 DR Expert). The nVidia chipset was good on its day, but it always had stability issues when compared to Intel chipsets...

In my previous posts I meant to say v325 and 326, and not 225/226... Now edited accordingly, once again thank you all for your input.

That's what I like about SD, mostly all I need is a quick, clean and simple way of getting into Shadow mode (I also have CleanSlate) - is why I also liked ShadowUser and the early Returnil versions.

(Can anyone give me an update on the SD domain.)

Can anyone tell me whether or not ShadowDefender will function correctly on SSDs, and whether or not TRIM needs to be disabled?

Yes, I'd disable TRIM on an SSD with SD on. And not just for SD, when disk write minimization is on users have reported file corruption with some other virtualization/rollback software too: Returnil, Deep Freeze and Rollback RX are also affected by this issue as far as I know.

Just been thinking, quick run for cover :D

This new www offering SD for sale must issue a licence. So either they have got hold of one, or more, licence/s they are issuing ever & over, or the've hacked it and are able to issue multiple "unique" licences.

If we knew several people who had bought their SD, we could compare licence numbers ;)

That's if it's not legit, which it doesn't "appear" to be !

I had a look at the org site too. They allow the download of a trial (shown as v1.1) with no specific x32 or x64 versions. Just a one mb executable simply named Setup.exe. To complicate things further, the file comes from shadowdefender.com; both sites seem to be operated by the same ...shadowey individuals.

It's a shame that SD was picked up by these characters whoever they may be. Tony has always been transparent and helpful towards his customers and I was hoping that whoever has taken control of his product would have continued to do so. It's all quite suspect.

It would have been great if the community would have adopted the product like it has been discussed in this forum. There are a lot of talented freeware programmers out there that could have taken SD further.

I bought a license in the midst of all this without hassle. I don't trust the newest version but .325 is working fine on my laptop with the key I was sent.
Mind you, where the cash went to is anyones guess...:)

    @ crapbag

If you don't mind, could someone PM you about your licence who already has one & compare. That way we'll have a much better chance of knowing if they have ripped off a previous one :thumb:

There is totally no point for this license verification discussion, there is a keygen out there somewhere and don't ask me where it's...blah blah blah. So, meaning the Unknown WHO is selling SD now can use the kg to generate tons of license code for everyone who purchase it.

For anyone who is concern I'm a legitimate SD full version user, Tony personally send me the license few years ago, but I still like to toy with all kinds of softwares. Anyhow it's confirmed that I lost contact with him on mail since last stable release (.325). :'(

As confirmed the all famous new release SD (.331) has no malware from outside file view, but not to the inside, since the massive weight lost which I mention on earlier post, it could be just a simple code enhancement from the author, or it could be strip down and malicious dangerous codes has been added into SD. For very profession BAD GUYS can revers engineer the SD throughly remove the protection module and add BAD Stuff into it, e.g. added a time bomb link to download virus files & auto exclude it, run it, etc.

So the final conclusion: UNKNOWN UNKNOWN UNKNOWN...o_O

    P.S. /!\ /!\ /!\
And also for anyone is using Shadow User, recommend to uninstall it NOW, Shadow User is not safe at all, it has serious leakage even with some normal application's installer, meaning you'll have random files and registry key leave behind even you reboot to original state.

Did you test it yourself? Do you have a link to whom might have tested SU? It's been known for years that SU can be bypassed by some specialized malware (from memory KillDisk, RoboDog trojan to name a few, although this malware is easily detected by most antivirus companies).
