Tested with NOD32 2.70.39 under Windows XP, all works fine. This problem affects only NOD32 Antivirus 3.0 and Eset Smart Security.

Thanks for the info I just tried 2.7 myself on a Virtual Machine and it was ok. Didn't know about ESS being affected too. Come on Eset at least a comment on this that you are aware and working on it.

It would be REALLY nice for someone from Eset to chime in as to what's up.

Just put my email notifications into diagnostic mode and got this.

At a guess failures :0 means the updated completed successfully someone else will have to fill in the retval variable - probably normal too even though it's still applying the update again.

Since I got home at 5 pm EST it has popped up 4 times that module has been updated. Server problem I guess.

I'm still getting it with NOD32 at work.

We update from our ERA Server on the LAN.

I also get it with ESS at home which updates direct from Eset.

It could be coincidence, but the Update Module was updated the day before
    to version 1021 (20080206).

    Maybe they screwed something up?

Looks like Banger696 beat me to it, but yes there was a problem with the update which has since been fixed.

Other than that, I just wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. My name is Erik--I'm one of ESET's new moderators and I'll be helping to answer questions in the forum. I hope to improve on my timing with the next post. Nice to meet you all. ;)

I read this forum yesterday, and had not experienced this issue. Starting this morning however, it has begun telling me the modules have updated, repeatedly, when they have not.

This started yesterday for me, and continued every hour until 1:16AM this morning - and then stopped. I believe the issue is now fixed.

EDIT: Unfortunately, it seems like something else has now started - my computer hangs at the "Saving your settings" screen during a reboot, and never actually does reboot. I have to Reset the machine and then it reboots. Between this issue and the Event ID 6004 issue, I have for now uninstalled NOD32 - which fixed both issues. I hope that Eset gets these things fixed (I have two tickets in with them) as I really do like NOD32.

The problem still exists for me at work this morning.

Hopefully Eset will fix it soon. :(
