Glad it's not just me then. Is this a broken update or server problem? Anyone know. Looks like the Antivirus and Anti-spyware scanner modules were updated today to 1105 but the Update module was updated yesterday.

The module was only updated ONCE today. Yet after every update check, every hour you get this message. It even occurs with a manual update check.

He might mean that he is continuing to see modules being updated even after they supposedly were updated already.

The modules are not being updated, nothing beyond the 2kb version check file is being downloaded, and yet after EVERY update check the modules are being reported as updated.

Perhaps you are not seeing the same issue others are but if you would take a look at your event log you might see that the program module is being updated for some each and every hour. Possibly not a "problem" but it's sure quite unusual for this to happen. It started on my end at 9:57 this AM. I have confidence it will eventually stop and it would only be a plus if someone from Eset decides to make a comment either in this thread or the other threads concerning this issue.

I have had one 'program modules have been updated' message today (21:57) and had the 2857 definitions update since (23:40), with no repetition of the program update message. My events log confirms I've only had the program update once (so far!).

Maybe there's some common denominator for those that are affected? I assume I got my updates from a UK server, if that makes any difference.

Very possible, but that may not have been a bad thing if it meant that the problem, whatever it was, got fixed before the UK servers started distributing the program update?

Most posters to date seem to have had their problems in the first half of Thursday. I didn't get online until about 17:00 on Thursday and got the program update nearly five hours later. I got the earlier definitions update (2856) as soon as I signed on, proving that the UK servers were awake then.

Could this be a case of the tortoise and the hare, slowest starter does best?

Well I'm still seeing this issue on 3 machines. What's worrying is that some update is not 'taking' and is being re-applied over and over. Programming mistake or something else? I'm still not sure if this is a server hiccupp or something in the update module as it was updated yesterday.

08/02/2008 00:28:41 Kernel The program modules have been updated.
07/02/2008 23:28:39 Kernel The program modules have been updated.
07/02/2008 22:28:49 Kernel Virus signature database successfully updated to version 2857 (20080207).
07/02/2008 21:28:33 Kernel The program modules have been updated.

I also suspect Eset are aware of this problem and are going to fix it but some comment from Eset would be welcome.

Edit: Would be nice to know if anyone with 2.7 is experiencing this issue which might point to server hiccups.

Well that's weird some getting some not. Even when I run a manual update I still get the same pop up telling me it was updated and the event log shows this. It's damned annoying, especially when I have a remote machines with email logging enabled, wonder if debug logging will shed a clue.
