I honestly believe you will love this piece, because it has everything: old hardware, new hardware, Windows, Linux, games, software, troubleshooting. Anyhow, this very long article is about my latest desktop machine, including hardware specifications, power usage considerations, noise, temperatures, dual-boot configuration with Windows 7 and Kubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal, hardware and software related problems like bad front panel, disk controller errors, Nvidia card recognized but not in use, and Realtek network card throughput in Linux, backup and recovery, fun stuff, games, and more. Here's the story of how I retired my oldest computer and replaced it with a monster rig. Enjoy.
