    Hello @Brian K,

I had a drive letter with both my TBWinRE UFD and my IFL UFD when I created them but I did not have a drive letter for my BIU UFD when I created it. Even though I did not have a drive letter, the BIU UFD worked as expected. I hope this helps...

    Thanks Kent,

I think it's system dependent. I have no drive letter if I create the UFD in Win10 or Win8 but it works fine in Win7. If I use makedisk.exe from IFL 3.33 then an IFL 3.34 UFD has a drive letter.

It's easy to assign a drive letter from Disk Management if one isn't present.

Makedisk.exe "didn't like" my computer. All OK now.

I've never been able to create a bootable UFD via IFW. I always get errors when it tries to format.
I just make an ISO and create one with Rufus. :thumb:

Have you tried several UFDs. I think the most reliable ones are the smallest ones. 1, 2 and 4 GB.

Can you make an IFL UFD from makedisk.exe?

I can't remember for sure if I have tried making an IFL UFD from MakeDisk, but I think that I would have at some time.
But Rufus never balks at anything.

IFL is my favourite. It's the fastest imaging app. Sometimes twice as fast as IFW.

I will have to use IFL more.
Yes, I know that it's much faster.

I love the reliability of IFW and Drive Snapshot.
I mean, isn't that what a data security application should be most of all? Bells and whistles are just cream on top.

If you don't trust your backup application (for whatever reason), then it is pointless using it.

    Hey all
Could I just check re users per license of BIBM and Drive Image and Back up And Restore

From Tb web page looks like 4 users per license in Drive Image.

cant see any specific info for BIBM.

How do I automate TeraByte to do differential backups? Thank You.

    Thanks Brian,

Second option seems a bit too advanced for me. The 1st option, how does the program know to make a differential backup? Meaning I create the task, but I see no option to choose Differential. Does the system do this automatically?

    Moosehead77,

You make a Full backup manually. Then you run through the IFW menus to make a diff backup, a Changes Only backup, based on the Full backup. Click Schedule Backup on the last screen.

Changes Only backups based on a Full backup are differential backups.

Aha!!!! this I understood and can do. One last question. When doing a backup it asks for a user name and password. Is this what I receive when I purchase the program? I am currently using the trial version. Thanks for all the help Brian.

Is that the "Run As" username and password? They are your Windows logon details (for the Scheduled task).

    Moosehead77,

Are you running IFW in Simple Operations Mode or Traditional?

Ok I figured it all out so far. In Macrium I have it setup where it does a Full backup every month or so, and then a Differential every week. Can I set TeraByte to do the same? Or simply keep the one full backup and keep adding differentials?
