    Jim,

If you have read my thread and posts above, you will know the limitations of IFW/IFD/IFL.

You are right. I downloaded one of the ones containing IFL. My mistake.

    Hello,

This is my first post, although I've been around for a couple of years, I think...I'd kindly ask for a help to get
in touch with mister Brian K. I mean, I joined the family of Terabyte users recently, I've been through a lot of
Brian's steps, and I need some fine tuning :). I apologize if this is not the best way\place to ask for this kind
of help, but PM doesn't work (at least for a zero poster), so I had to try. Thank you for understanding.

Create an incremental the same way you create a differential -- a Changes Only backup. The only difference is which file you select for the "base" image. When creating incrementals you would normally select the latest incremental in the chain as the "base" image. For ease of use, it's recommended to keep all the backups of the chain in the same folder.

Hey, thanx a lot! I have a lot of experience with Acronis, Ghost, EASEUS....etc... but Terabyte seems more complex, which some people may not like; I do like the concept of Terabyte, my favorite is IFL and I LOOOOOOOOOVE cui version. However, using BIBM gave me some X-files moments, and I remember Brian wrote he had to ask Terabyte support @ some point. I was thinking, of course, about starting a new thread, but a lot of questions would be based upon subjects Brian commented already. What I could ask here, although I read the manual, would be related to settings (Global Geometry Options) + automatically updating MBR. The manual covers all, but I need to rule out some doubts. Also, I'd like to (to put the simplest way) have the settings which would lead to Terabyte acting as application XY (only issue free, of course) :) so I can inform some John Doe or Jane Doe "you can do this with IFL" and recommend settings according to whatever it needs to be done. I already have a lot of backups + restores using IFL, and restoring to dissimilar hardware was a breeze. I use Windows 7 Ultimate x64, BTW.

    zfactor,

I've never used the enter key method. A few years ago I put an imagew.ini in the V2 folder and my IFW is always registered.

    Code:
If the registration information has already been removed from the imagew.ini file, you can add it back into the file and then set the read-only attribute. There is no need to recreate the build to fix the problem.

The required format is as follows:

    [License]
    Key=User Name XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

Where User Name and XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX represent your own registered user name and key.

yeah i finally did that this was a fresh win 7 install so i just figured i would use the "enter key" method it worked for x86 but not for x64 just caused a crash

I keep a copy of imagew.ini under lock and key, which I need for everything, fresh install, TBWinPE, TBWinRE and so forth.

    Best regards,

    Same here.

I created a custom TBIWINRE where I had TeraByte files outside of boot.wim. I had to use an imagew64.ini.

    Hi Brian,

So, basically I can make a copy of imagew.ini and then rename this copy to imagew64.ini

    Is the above correct?

    Best regards,

    aladdin,

That's what I did. But it's the only time I've needed it.

I guess you use 64 bit IFW. I'm still using 32 bit. Force of habit but I can't tell any difference, one from the other.

brian is there a way to remove the lic key fully from win 7 for ifw? im giving a desktop to a friend and I had my ifw installed on it. I do not have a image for it and really did not feel like reinstalling windows since there is nothing else im worried about on it. is there a way to fully remove the lic key from windows without having to fully format the system?? if you do not want to post info here you can pm me also if there is a way to do this. thanks for any info.

    zfactor,

I don't know. I'd ask TeraByte Support and I'd be interested in how to do it.

ill send them a question I hope it can be done I removed the program fully and just spent around 20 min searching through areas of the registry and I ran a couple registry scanner to see if they found anything and I could not find anything showing my lic key so im wondering where it is stored. since after uninstalling and rebooting it never asks for the lic key the next time you install the program. im hoping there will be a way to remove it from this system fully.

Run imagew.exe from the command line....

    IMAGEW.EXE REGISTER

will allow you to enter a new name/key.

    IMAGEW.EXE FeK_93584

will invalidate the key that is currently installed. Note that the key will
never work again on the computer, so don't do it as a test, do it only when
you are invalidating it on that computer, you'll need to purchase a new key
for that given system if you use that special parameter.

It looks like IFW version 2.79 is expected to be released near the end of January. I just read the following (Dated January 18, 2013) in the Terabyte Forum:
