How? You must not be using it on a partition that is currently running an OS. Tere's no way to get a lock.

    You can use TBOSDT

    runtbs script.tbs

    I used two scripts...

    script.cmd

    Code:
    @echo off
    CD /d %~dp0
set path=C:\Program Files (x86)\TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite\TeraByte OSD Tool Suite Pro\win
    tbosdtw64.exe script.tbs
    echo.
    pause
Create a text document and copy Nate's script into the document. Rename it script.tbs.

Right click script.cmd and Run as Admin.

The drive containing the Hadron partitions was a data drive.

My Partition IDs are locked. Maybe that's why we see different Partition ID results. My Partition ID of 0x17 will always be 0x17 after a restore and boot. You can lock Partition IDs in BIU.

That would be a good idea. Mine got all messed up once. I can't remember what caused it.
I think the first indication was when my Drive Snapshot backups started failing.

It's easy to do. In Boot Edit, select the partition you want locked, click Properties, "Lock to Entry Num". The Entry Num is the GPT slot. When locked, there are brackets around the Num. You can lock multiple partitions,

    I have these locked...

    ESP
    MSR
    Win11
    RE

    Thanks, Brian.
They should be locked by default.

Sorry. I can't see the Lock option.
    I must be blind.

You must have a Boot Item in Boot Edit.

I've been using Partition ID locking for years. I tried BIU without Partition ID locking today and I now understand what you have been saying about the IDs changing under some circumstances. I've re-locked the IDs.

    @Brian K
That's why I thought it would be a nice addition to have a Partition ID column in PartWork for Windows.

By the way. I'm not at my computers right now. I'm tapping away on my phone, but doesn't PartWork for Windows have Partition ID locking?

No, it doesn't. You have to be booting a Boot Item from BIU to use Partition ID locking,
If you are booting a single OS you can hide the BIU Boot screen with the "IT Mode" setting. BIU is still working so you can have Partition ID locking but you won't see a BIU Boot menu. This is a personal setting. I prefer to see the menu.

    I agree.
The Partition ID is the GPT # plus 1

I'm pretty sure Reflect shows the Partition ID down below in the graphical drives display. In fact, I think I've also seen it somewhere in IFW.

PartWork for Windows v2.04 is now available.

Has anyone done any proper testing with PartWork for Windows yet?
Partitioning applications are not something that I use regularly.

I've been looking at the new PartWork for Windows v2.05. I know it's very powerful, but there is some stuff that I don't understand.
I see a "Wipe Disk" button. Be careful of that button, kids. :argh:

Wipe Disk zeroes every sector on the drive, similar to
    diskpart clean all

You can recover from "diskpart clean" which only zeroes the first and last 2048 sectors of the drive. So it does zero the Primary and secondary GPT. The partitions however can be undeleted which will rebuild the GPTs.

    So, it's recoverable.

This is from IFW. The drive is HD 4 and the Partition ID of (C:)Win11 is 0x03. It's at the end of the line. The partition IDs are not always sequential. It depends when the partition was created. The Disk ID is 0x5515D143. Also called Disk Signature. It is important for MBR disks. Not really relevant for GPT disks.

Selecting the Win11 partition and clicking Information gives this...

    2.png

    The Partition GUID is {3F4B.......
The smallest partition to restore into is 56.57 GiB but with compaction you can restore into a 39.84 GiB partition.
854016/2048 is 417. An integer. So the partition is 1MiB aligned.
