TDS has been part of our family here at Wilder's for a good amount of time Jason galvin and wayne who's names i misspell allot lol and sweet joosky also nick named by me as legs lol they our are family here regardless if they have another bord. over the time spent together i and many others have not seen them as just supporters of TDS and other software belonging to them but also as a valuable resource that can not be replaced or mimic. Paul has created Wilder's and is the owner i look up to him as a mentor and even if he doesn't know that he does now. Ive knowen of paul longer then he thinks ive knowen about him i was mainly lurking in the background when he was knowen i think as secure eyes or just admin i cant remember it was a long long time ago. i go further back then the second ezbord before the guys back then posted about malware and antiseptic code name zap killer when members were at a low hundreds if even that. Paul we all love you and respect you even if you don't hear it as much as you really should. Wilder's has become so much more then when you open its doors. it has become a united front on the war against virus malicious hackers and evil trojans and worms. Wilder's has evolved into an interact network of family Friend's ideals and Passion. it has become something more then you or i regardless if you see it or not. we all share a common love of ideals a place that does not judge by race color illiteracy but character of ones person. TDS is no longer tds to me it is people . they have a name many names there part of us now we have grown old together and have become one big family. like many family's we have our ups and Downs but threw thick in thin threw blood we have always been there for each other . were all family i like to think that you see us all that way to and not just as a message bord. what you do as the owner does not just effect a bord but the thousands of people who have become dependent on you paul. i know when you made this bord it was probably for fun and inspired your curiosity and wanted to do some good for those not in the know. i know you didn't think you and this bord would become so much much more. nor that this heavy burden of your creation would take a life of its owen and your decisions decide whether this bord lives or dies i shouldn't call it a bord its so much more but you should know that by now. so paul the balls in your court cut off limbs and watch this bord cry out in pain as it losses its life blood you shouldn't see other boards as the enemy but as cousins. pleas don't break us apart we all need to be together stick together especially now of all times. pleas tds family and Wilder's family and paul think things threw if tds wants to stay let them if they want to leave just to leave the nest to expand there horizon's let them to there family either way i hope both groups can see that its not about just you two think about us newbys to we need all of you otherwise where are we and where we will be then if all go separate ways
Blaze, it was not our decission nor wish. You all know where to find us now, the whole DCS families for sharing, worries, questions, solutions, support, problems, good things, DCS and other programs, all security and for our internet enjoyment. In one of the DCS forum threads over here i posted the little forums jump script, to be loaded into TDC to jump into either of these two forums, accompanied with your favorite jukeboxmusic. Use the link in the script, or the one in my signature or if that has problems (they're in a process of rebuilding and redesigning the sites and forums) go to the DCS site www.diamondcs.com.au and in the main or TDS page jump to the "forums" from the navigation bar. Know i'll be there and can still be contacted with IM and email via the DCS forums. We keep the families together. Adding the little script here too. Change the extension TXT into SS3 and load the Forums.SS3 from TDS for a happy jump to the forums with your favorite jukeboxmusic playing.
Blaze, We have been discussing this issue extensively with both our team and DCS. We have been very happy hosting their forums over here. In our vision, users and interested ones are far better off having just one official forum to point their browser to in case of questions and remarks. DCS has chosen to host open official forums on their own server; we don't have any problems in that - it's the perogative from every software company hosting their support forum(s) over here. DCS prefered having both the forum on their own server and the ones over here running in conjunction. In our view, this isn't the way to go for reasons mentioned. As you've might have noticed, it has not been an easy decision: Jooske as well as DCS prefered having both forums up and running. We - as a team - considered it for the best for users and interested ones to have just one open forum to point the browser to. We do wish DCS all the best, in regard to both their fine products as well as their forums. regards, paul
Tinribs, we are not going, nothjing changes: DCS forums have been up several years and just continue what they did for two yers already. I was there and still am. Wayne, Jason, Gavin, many others from the TDS family are there and many of them you know from the board here. So you know to get there, either www.diamondcs.com.au/forum/index.php or via the DCS site www.diamondcs.com.au in the navigation bar choose for forums, or other alternative use the little Forums jump script i attached above from the TDS browser to jump to either one of these forums. DCS products user or not, you're as welcome as ever.
Just lurking - as many, many are no doubt: those DCS guys are hurting themselves seriously. I have been very comfortable lurking and (on ocassion) posting over here at wilder's without the restriction of registration. That's true freedom of speech!. In case I'll have questions - as a trial user from TDS - there's just one way to get support: asking for registration on the DCS-ruled forum - which I never will - or ditching TDS/trial. Since I'm a true believer in personal freedom: the choice is an easy one. I've ditched TDS. My personal freedom comes first, no matter what.
My feelings exactly, tdslover. Surfing many security related boards, you and I are not the only ones. Many TDS trial users have removed TDS in the meanwhile, for one and the same reasons ( personally, I know 15 at the moment, and that's just me....). Support over here has been excellent - thanks Jooske and others. No way I - and many, many others - will (try to??) sign up for a support forum demanding to reveal one's identity - and if so, be turned down because for some reason or another (who can tell??). I ave removed the TDS trial version from my system as well. Going for TrojanHunter or BOClean - not sure yet.
Well I tend to agree, I am usually in favour of 'lurking' around forums for some time before I register, I like to get a feel for the place and the users first, then when I know the people and forum are sound then I register. Of course I'm already aware of most of the DCS regulars and I know the users are sound but still, I dont want to be forced to register just to view posts.
Hi guys, thanks for your opinions on the forum. We do listen and hence we are working on a way to have a much more user/lurker friendly forum. We are in discussions with Paul at the moment also, we will report more once we know more. -Jason-
Hi tdslover.. Just one question, is it hard to register an alias with say a yahoo account ? There is then no question of privacy, our forum software doesn't use SSL so it supports any proxies.. the only thing really is that it might take 5 minutes to sign up There are tons of forums around that require registration. Either way, we value the forum as a support medium, so changes are underway. It may be possible to lurk too.. dont ditch TDS yet - you used it for a reason, dare i guess that was detection which is what counts most !
Thanks Jason and Gavin for telling, i hope the lurking forum is open soon. I want the people to know, it was not DCS's wish to close down the DCS forums here. I like to say to all the users, i do love to support you with your questions and i do hope to be able to do it in a good way. But i'm sorry, it was not DCS who closed the place over here. I love to continue to be there for you and help you with your questions and i welcome the words the DCS people now say to try to open a lurking space now they're no longer welcome while they continue what they've been doing already several years. I even have one of my email accounts in the open in my profile here so in case you keep trusting us as persons as the moderators we always have been and you are not ready yet to register as a member in the DCS forums --which is not the same as being forced to register the software OF COURSE NOT! altough it would be pleasant if you did when you feel comfortable with it-- then please don't hesitate to ask support. A nice personal note at times is also so very welcome for you may understand i feel really hurt as all my arguments to have DCS continuing here supporting and maintaining a nice clean and educational forum over here too are ignored and without any personal thank you from the board owner my mod status removed and even without any warning my email account closed, i'm sorry for people who found their emails bouncing, please be so kind to try the new one or write me via the DCS forum where my IM and email is always open as it has been several years now. Please people with trial versions, understand it's not DCS's wish nor mine as proud registered DCS products operator/supporter /beta tester to leave you in the dark in any way. Even if deciding not to register, at least we'll like to help you with your questions and worries. The DCS forums are not limited to DCS products TDS alone: over the years a lot of security items in general and other programs, handy tools, educational stuff has been discussed, so don't hesitate to come and look. On the forums here to avoid cross posting those items have been discussed in the appropriate forums here but this does not mean on the DCS forums they would not be items of discussion and education either. We've always used links to discussions elsewhere. So don't hold back and know yourself supported and welcome as ever.
Stated by Jason/DCS: We are in discussion indeed, in order to see if there's another possibility at hand. Jooske, I'm sure you do mean well, but posts like your last one is frustrating the discussion, a discussion between two parties only: the CEO from DCS and my person and our team. For the benefit of both parties involved, please refrain from posts like your last one, and check back with Wayne. Thanks in advance. regards. paul
Whatever, at least a kind personal email telling "we have to do this till" or "decided for the moment that" would have been a normal way of human communication; now each time accessing the board i must discover new restrictions and getting complaints for bouncing emails while i was not even told my email account was closed too. Nothing. And those are not parts to check back with Wayne but it's this board owner handling without any personal warning. You make me feel like mud while i never did anything wrong. How you threath me as a normal loyal user has nothing to do with communication with Wayne nor can it ever be used as a frustration of communication between you two. One personal explaining note could have changed the whole atmosphere. You probably are too occupied with the whole process of migrating to a new forum software to think of such human details, but it did not keep you from acting without telling the people involved. You're the board owner and you made that clear in every way.
Jooske, Let's get things straight here: as soon as you did let us know you chose not to be a member from our team, consequently you've lost your moderator status; there can't be any surprise in that; for the same reason, the special "wilders.org" addy, only in use by moderator/administrators, had become obsolete; you did no longer belong to our mod team; you did refer to this in private yourself no "restrictions have been made, other than - at your request - changing your moderator status into a member status. Members don't have a moderator status or a moderator "wilders.org" addy. As for "human details": as a former team member you should be fully aware our team has - and is acting as a team first and foremost - even in case of personal issues not regarding board matters. We have been and will be taking care of one another. It has been your choice, and yours only, to leave the team; no one asked you to do so, and you have been praised for all efforts and time. We don't hold any grudge here - why not burry your hatchet and restore the friendly terms. for the benefit of DCS, our team and yourself? regards, paul
Hello all, I hate to see what is going on here... Wilder's has always acted like a big family and worked out whatever was going on . I am sure that no matter what the final decisions are that Wayne, Gavin, Jason, and Jooske will still (hopefully ) visit this board and contribute also. I, for one, have learned a lot from Jooske here, not only on DCS matters, but she has made many valuable posts on many other subjects too. I would like to see her remain as a Global Moderator but that is her decision . I am sure that Wilder's as a family will pull together and no matter the final decisions, Wilder's and DCS will work together as the same family they have been, no matter where the forums are. I have the utmost confidence in Paul and Wayne to make the correct decisions, not necessarily to everyone's liking, but for what is best for Wilder's and DCS. I will support them in the end ... Thanks to Paul and Wayne for providing and supporting excellent forums (if not the best on the net IMHO) both in the past, now, and in the future. Regards, Kent Edited to add: This post was not meant in ANY negative way!!! If I offended anyone, it was not my intention and I apologize... I totally respect both Wilder's and DCS as having two of the best forums on the net and I feel towards ALL members (whether admins, mods, or just regular members like me ) that we are ALL family here....
Kent, Your post is much appreciated! Be assured we will work things out - in the "family way". That said, at times families do have disagreements once in a while (well, that's the way it works as for my family on rare ocassions ). Those are temporary ones - as they are over here. Posts in this thread could have easily be removed on the spot; we did not chose to do so. Although we do prefer solving internal problems internally, once a "family member" wishes to go public: so be it. We've never have been in the habit of deleting threads and posts that easily - an attitude that belongs to this board; as open and free as possible. But: in the end, we'll take care of issues at hand. This issue is no exception to the rule. Thanks for the confidence - and we (our team, my person included) and Wayne will for sure. Whatever the outcome: it won't affect the mutual respect and friendly atmosphere between our team and DCS - and do know I speak for the both of us here ..and we'll keep on providing support the best way we can . regards. paul
I want to say something about Wilder's forum and DiamondCS. I wouldn't have had the courage to trial TDS if it wasn't for communications I had with some really cool people in the TDS-3 category here.I am grateful for that. I'm sure that Wilders and DiamondCS will always be great places for support. I support both forums fully and I appreciate the help that I have recieved in both forums and the supportive members.
The Tester, i hope you're still satisfied with the DCS products and make ful use of them. Although TDS is hardly possible to make "full" use of it, as it's possibilities are beyond imagination, certainly if you use the scripting parts too. For me, it's central on my system, you might call it a quick launch console
Paul and Tinribs, Thank you both for the kind words.... Just wanted to let you know it is appreciated .... Regards, Kent
Hi Kent, We're always happy in case a valued member speaks up . In the meanwhile, some changes have been effectuated; jump to the DCS forum(s) . regards. paul
Paul you always been a mentor to me i always lurked in background reading your posts of this and that when you did have something to say it was always good. i never mind to much getting spanked when you did spank me. And i probably be spanked for speaking my heart out because thats what i usually talk with even though most cant read my writings lol. but when i came to Wilder's and read your post in tds i knew something was up something underneath the surface that and many things previously that don't seem to be your regular personalty. you have mainly given people the middle finger in a way only a politician would to the public by smileing and giving a vague answer to questions. but most are to afraid to talk to you about it or don't want to say anything none have said this to me but you can just tell theres stagnant in the air people with hurt feelings here on both sides as well as hurt egos. i think theirs allot more going on here then usual because your behavior has become perty much more immature then me and thats bad cause I'm like a little kid on jolt soda with no sign of redilum medication for thousands of miles alway lol. i think there something going on in your personal life you not telling us i don't know what it is usually when it comes to acts of betrayal retaliation attitude it has something to do with a woman. if you having problems with your female don't take it out on those that are your Friends and love you. we there for you. hopefully this is not the case and i got it all wrong everything i said in this post actually i prey i got it all wrong and that its just a hurt ego because there bord went public and no one told you I'm guessing thats what it is cause you been-saying it in a nice way thats why you giving them-the boot if that the case you have to look threw there eyes they weren't trying to be sneaky malicious put a knife threw your back they provably thought it wasn't such a big deal apparently it didn't turn out to be that way. cause if i go to a Friends house *uck up there are hurt feelings but usually a Friend don't put you out in the rain just cause you have a little tiff sure there hurt feelings but nothing alcohol don't cure lol just drink something relax if you having woman problems talk to me lol i know more about woman then they know about them-selfs lol despite my immature behavior and bad spelling i know them perty well any how hope you don't get to mad and go crazy but i always been one to just let it out and don't beat around the bush i tell it how it is or how it looks if I'm wrong I'm wrong but if I'm right just have beer and mellow out
Blaze, I won't "spank" you. You are entitled to your own opinion. My one and only comment is, this issue has been a matter between DCS and our team; you are making statements based on presumptions. The only ones who do know the whole story have been my person, our team and DCS. And as you've noticed, we have dealt with issues at hand - and be assured - in a friendly way. Now all has been settled, there's no need to go on on this topic over and over. I'm closing this thread. Anyone who feels the need to comment on this issue can drop me an email or IM. regards. paul
