Task Manager and Regedit are being used by another program

Hello, as of today Task Manager and Regedit have stopped working. I've no idea what I've done (if anything). Norton and Ad-aware can't find a thing, nor can Striker.

I've read other people have had the same problem, and can't run msconfig, yet this works for me. I managed to get regedit working by making a copy and naming it .com. Task Manager unfortunately still won't work, either by alt+ctrl+del or from the taskbar.


Edit: sorry, I read the announcement about hijackthis logs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm not sure whether this is a virum/worm/trojan or anything.

Thanks, but I just this second sorted it by doing ActiveScan.

It was this:

I don't know whether you want to delete the thread or leave it for reference for people who also have the problem.

 

The thread will stay for the reasons u stated.
