Task: Configuration

Remote Administrator Console

In CLIENTS, i set the filter to CLIENTS IN GROUPS and selected the GROUP.
I then selected all the computers in that group.

New Task, Configuration Task
ESET Configuration Editor
ESET Smart Security, ESET NOD32 Antivirus
ESET Kernel
SETUP
Exclusions
- added 8 file extensions like: *.abc
- added 1 folder like: c:\program files\folder

Save Task to desktop as filename.xml
SELECT the .xml file
NEXT
all the selected computers show up in the SELECTED ITEMS column.
NEXT
Name: configuration-3
unslected the DELETE TASKS... if success...
FINISH

In TASKS tab
the TASK appears ACTIVE
10 minutes later...
the TASK appears FINISHED
r click, DETAILS
shows all the computers and in VIEW, the configuration listed above.

Log onto any of the affected computers,

ADVANCED SETUP
Antivirus and antisplyware
Real-time file system protection
SETUP
Extensions
Scan all files is SELECTED and
there are no (zero, none) extensions / folders in the extension box.

what did i miss??

which version do you use?

Suggestion:

When you want to configure extensions to be scanned by Real Time Protection you have to edit node ESS/ENA > File-system filter > Scanner > Extensions > Extensions setup

in the CfgEdit.

According to your post, I assume you edited wrong node - Startup scanner.

which was for 2.0.50, that i just now installed. i was running 2.0.33

indeed so, i did not use the extensions branch you listed.

i have much to learn it seems.
