Because my graphics card is old I downloaded 0.8 version of the game supertuxkart as only the newer 0.9 version is available on software manger. The file is supertuxkart-0.8-linux-glibc2.7-i386.tar.bz2.Anyway i downloaded it with firefox to download folder and extracted it there with archive manger.A new folder was made with all the supertuxkart stuff in.I worked out that clicking a file called supertuxkart within the BIN folder (that was in the extracted new folder)started the game. All well and good.I edited menu and pointed to that file so that it shows under games in start menu ,and clicking it starts the game. However I cant help thinking that although ive got it working ,there must have been an easier way to install the game so that it installed in correct folder and adds itself to menu automatically?.Its currently in my downloads folder.Im using mint 18

Have you checked the game's website for instructions on installing it?
