Windows XP SP 3, ESET 5.0.93: This morning, ESET flashed the "!" icon and indicated that the operating system did not have all the updates applied. When I manually ran Windows Update, there were 3 .NET high priority updates and no critical updates available. I downloaded and installed the 3 updates and then checked the setting under Tools/System Updates in Advanced Setup, which was set to "Critical" 1. Does ESET lump high-priority updates in with critical when checking? 2. Why do the classifications under Tools/System Updates not match what Microsoft classifies under Windows update?
And without hijacking, is there a way to turn this notification off? NOD32 tells me that I need to install an update that doesn't apply to my system, and that incessant little balloon is getting the best of me.
Hi, You can turn the notification off within the ESET settings. See the attached screenshot for details. Cheers!
