hi, i read in the other forum about should access be granted for svchost, i m using LnS and it never asks me anything about svchost, why is that, and if if asks should i allow it? TIA
You can allow svchost.exe to allow the internet it needs the access for some programs. Now on the other end if you have something like svchost32.exe trying to access the internet.... PLZ denie that else you might end up having more trouble then anything else.
Hey Litec Could you provide us with some Details? Operating System and Look ‘n’ Stop Version Informatics would be a start. And I’m assuming Application Filtering Layer is functioning otherwise you would of indicated otherwise. Also you may find http://www.wilderssecurity.info/pg16.shtml quite interesting depending... Enjoy
hi FluxGFX, thx for the info on svchost32.exe. hi Phant0m, my OS is XP without SP1, LnS Ver is 204p2 with enhanced-ruleset. yes, Application Filtering Layer is functioning properly, i m using MyIE2 and Proxomitron, both have outbound access. but i blocked IE completely because doing so enable me to pass all leak tests successfully ;-] thx very much for the link, excellent infomation, i m wondering why LnS didnt prompt me on those file like: ALG.EXE SVCHOST.EXE LSASS.EXE etc....
It appears to me the Look ‘n’ Stop Application Filtering Layer isn’t becoming functional soon enough to detect and Control these Client System Files. I would recommend consider using “ActivatedSoon Flag”, further Informatics is giving on http://www.wilderssecurity.info/pg7.shtml. Regards,
hi Phant0m shifu, with ActivatedSoon Flag enabled, i have got an outbound prompt for Explorer.exe, i guess the rest will show up slowly. thx again.
