When I log onto the dsl internet service right immediately there seems to be some weird network usage spiking at 0.02 or 0.05 as if something is making use of my connection without my knowledge.
Is this normal for a network usage even when I'm idle? o_O
For example I have Local Area Connection running at 2%
and Mnsi Dsl at 3% when I'm idle on the internet usage.

Could this be a Trojan or Virus making use of my network connection? o_O

Probably nothing ununsual. There's a lot of synchronzation, authentication and authorization taking place.
If you run a firewall: read the logs and you'll see lots of requests. I suppose all of them are authorized.
If you're not running a firewall: get one. Plenty of topics here.

If you fear infection: download some scanner (just check this site) and scan all you can find.
Get ad-aware or some other spyware tool.
