Do they still recommend that you scan in safe mode, or does it make any difference? Also, does anyone know why it was recommended in older versions?

    thnx

@Nick: i request you to incorporate proxy authentication feature in SAS. I cannot use SAS in my personal laptop in institute as it uses proxy authentication.

I ran a full scan with 5.0 and it found what I believe are 3 false positives. Uploaded to Jotti's and they were found to be clean. The same files were scanned previously by the last version of Superantispyware and were never picked up as threats. I submitted these as false positives from the GUI. I assume this is due to a new scanning engine?

I did a full scan with Ignore files larger than 4 MB, Ignore non-executables and scan only known file types all unchecked and scanning inside archives on, and there were no FP :)

Scan speeds are faster. I have not done any malware testing, but as far as the GUI, scans speeds, etc., it seems like a very nice update.

Post your scan log here, I would like to see what those are. Every anti-spyware and anti-virus product has false positives from time to time - we resolve them and move on - that doesn't make a "poor" product.

Scan log please? We would like to make sure they are resolved - this is why we release a pre-release so 1000's of people can test and we can make any adjustments needed.

Should handle them fine - if you find one we don't, report it and we'll take care of it!

Yes, you'll have to re-enter your registration code (possibly).

Do they still recommend that you scan in safe mode and why was it recommended in older versions?

There is no real need to scan in safe mode. Safe mode "helps" in cases where the spyware is overtaking the system CPU wise and often times in safe mode it won't start up - so that's a situation where safe mode could "help", but it's certainly not required.

A scan with default settings proved to be very fast, no fp's, nice GUI overhaul.
    Kudos for SAS.

Can I just get a clarification that when fully installed, SAS uses approximately 128 megs of drive space cumulatively ?

That`s what I`m seeing here and just wondered if that was correct.

It uses what it uses, meaning depending on how many logs you save, how many quarantined items you save, etc. etc. it will vary.
