    Intended behavior, or error?

After opening the SUMo application (no PRO license), if for any product (= application) I select "Get update" (or double click), to see the version details for that product (or to use the power user ability to tag or un-tag an application as beta), the "Get update" action opens the KC Softwares Shop page, instead of the KC Softwares page for the regarding application.
Only when I repeat the "Get update" (double click) action, the KC Softwares page for the regarding application opens.

Is opening the KC Softwares Shop page intended behavior, to advertise the KC Softwares Shop, or is this an error?
It is quite new behavior, since a few days or a couple of weeks, or since one of the latest SUMo versions.
I must say that I do not like this new behavior.
Opening the KC Softwares Shop page, instead of the KC Softwares page for the regarding application, feels as an error, even as it may be meant to advertise for the KC Softwares Shop, and even as I can close the KC Softwares Shop page and repeat the "Get update" action.
Opening the KC Softwares Shop page feels silly, and not as an advertisement for KC Softwares products, at all.

    Settings - 'Get Update':
    [X] Sumo Server
[ ] Developer official web site
This is an advanced feature and the free version is always opening the "KC Softwares page" after "Get Update".
With the PRO version you can switch to the other option and the developer's site is opened.
Edit: Oh, "KC Softwares Shop page", i overlooked the word shop somehow
Btw. your problem was fixed as you can see in #1903 :thumb:

Ah, so it was an error.
I really could imagine it was intended behavior, but it's much better that it was a bug. :)
Thanks very much for fixing, Kyle! :thumb:

    Same over here.
It's not uncommon that one of the SUMo servers is down for a moment, but as there were two servers (main and second/backup), usually that was not a problem.
Are both servers down, this time? Main and second/backup also? That would be weird.
Or is there no longer a second/backup server in use for SUMo?

Server was down. Please retry now (temporary workaround in place).

In fact due to my anti-crack system on server side alternate server was no longer providing answers when promary one gets silent due to failure. This will be fined tuned later on in order to recover hot redundancy capability.

It's better, but not fully OK, yet.

With SUMo with setting: no SUMo load at Windows startup,
this is what I see now, when I open SUMo:
the first "Check" still results in server timeout,
the second "Check" is hesitant but then runs through,
    next "Checks" are blazing fast.
When I close SUMo and open it again, I see the same - first Check timeout, second Check hesitant, next Checks fast.

That's exactly what happens if you look at logs :
    - first check on kcsoftwares.com => fails on 5sec timeout
    - next ones on kc-softwares.com => blazing fast
    - some, from time to time on kc-softwares.com => blazing fast + 1s (due to alt <=> main comm test, failing on 1s timeout)

Full performance will be restored when OVH (Web host for main server) will have their failed filers fixed ( http://travaux.ovh.com/?do=details&id=21399 )

Anyway, if you still face time out or licence rejection please save log and send them to me for analysis.

The good news is that this gave me the opportunity to improve the overall robustness to server partial failure (one web server among 2 not totally failed but very slow) and i'm pretty satisfied of the overall results.

Potential improvement could be to skip the first failure on 5s timeout by reducing 1st timeout to ~1s but i'm pretty scared of regressions and side effects...

    @Kyle_Katarn,

    Also not working:

    SUMo Free/ no license,
    Open SUMo,
    Check,
choose one of the results, and double click, or right click and choose "Get Update".
This should open the KC Softwares page for that specific software.
However, opening the page times out with "504 Gateway Time-out" error,
or it opens terribly slow, and when it opens, it shows an error message,
or it does open, but it doesn't show recent versions, not even when I first "Scan" and "Check" so that the server should at least see the new recent versions that are on my system.

I guess you know about this, and I suppose it will be fixed when the main server is fixed.
