That's wrong, nothing is installed if RK is declined at the beginning of the installation process (their post is rather old ... 2009... and even at that time, i can't remember of such problems)

Thank you very much for clearing that misunderstanding, Kyle.
If this is correct, there is not much wrong with the current full (RK) installer.
    This clearly shifts this discussion.

If the option to decline is truly present for all sponsor components as well as for the RK component, and nothing of it is installed if one declines RK and other sponsor components, than to me there's nothing wrong with the full (RK) installer.
There will always be those who install 'click-click-click-click' and feel tricked, but this will also be the case with other adware supported installers, like with the OpenCandy installers.

However, it is still the case that some anti-virus/ anti-malware programs react to RK, labeling it as spyware. This will still reflect negatively on those products that use an RK installer. One can decline the RK component, but as RK is part of the installer some anti-virus/ anti-malware programs will still react to it, thus reflecting negatively on the otherwise wonderful product. The only way to get rid of this bother seems to get rid of RK, and use an OpenCandy installer, or donation-ware, or whatever NoRK installer.

    Thanks again, Kyle.

    You're welcome !

By the way, do you appreciate v3.7 ?
It should be more user friendly as it no longer re-loads everything all the time (if not needed)
    Do you confirm ?

    I updated, and I confirm.
However, that which I mentioned before, that it took a few seconds for the SUMo program GUI to open, that I haven't been able to test yet, as that only occurred after a Windows reboot, with the first time I opened the SUMo GUI.
As soon as I reboot Windows, I'll try SUMo and I'll see if something has changed.

Striking, that second one is much like the current SUMo icon, but in another style. Interesting find.
The first one is related to "software, system, update", according to IconFinder, but I think it's not very pretty. I would need some days to become accustomed.
I like the current SUMo icon better.
    So.. I don't know.
Perhaps Romagnolo1973, who came up with the idea of changing icons for SUMo and KCleaner, can browse IconArchive, IconFinder, Iconlet and WPClipart and find a good bunch of nice icons, from which Kyle (and forum members) can choose?

I rebooted, but that 'slow' opening of the SUMo program GUI hasn't changed with the newest version. With 'cold start' ("Load at startup" not enabled) it still takes a few seconds for the SUMo program GUI to open, while some versions ago (the SUMo builds before the server troubles started), the SUMo program GUI opened instantly, even with a 'cold start', right after system boot.
However.. that's how I remember. But we know that our memory is not reliable, so I could very well be mistaken. Perhaps SUMo's cold start always took a few seconds? I'm no longer sure.
Anyhow, even if it takes a few seconds for the SUMo program GUI to open, that fine with me. LibreOffice takes twice or thrice that time to open and that doesn't bother me either. ;)
The best thing is that the SUMo server (and secondary server, if needed) works nicely, these days.
    Thanks again.

Just installed the 3.7 and the online update check is like a Audi RS4:D

    I prefer the first icon.

every icon is better than the windows set :D
You can easy use this online service called SumoPaint :D and add Text or other thing http://www.sumopaint.com/app/

http://www.iconfinder.com/icondetails/55586/64/clean_icon and adding a litle KC on it, the same I do with the Sumo icon here http://www.iconfinder.com/icondetails/28671/128/set_set_table_system_icon
You can grab this 2 icons with a kind of KC brand here
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/0c70wk
Or use Sumopaint online to add a text in a Icon you like more

Let me know if you like the idea

Ahh I forgot: SUMo 3.7 is great, great great !! Faster than ever

    Thank you, that's nice.
But since i'll need all icon resolution, i think that i will have to use "out of the box" icons available there on the shelf.
The one you used as your source seems to be the favorite... and it is mine as well !

Will deserve a v3.8 for complete icon relooking (all buttons as well)
I'll send you a mockup if possible.

From my point of view this is probably due to HDD / system caching of data, making first access slower. From a SUMo perspective, all run are perfectly similar in terms of code execution (no SUMo-level caching for exe properties)

    If I am not mistaken:
Software updates don't get to the SUMo database 'automagically', but one user needs to be the first to notice and install such an update, after which it will be picked up and added to the SUMo database and it will be presented to all SUMo users.
Someone will be the first to notice an update, before it gets to the SUMo database, and in this case you were.

    @ Kyle_Katarn

    Kyle,
There seems to be something wrong with the KC Softwares mail server.
Last week (or was it two weeks ago?) and also this week, I posted SUMo Beta Reports to <support@kcsoftwares.com>, and I got "Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender" messages back:
    Action: failed
    Status: 4.4.1
    Connection timed out

there are 4 version of Sumo in the download page: 1 with RK that is an adware and 3 without crapware, if you have downloaded the RK version could be COMODO has detected the adware, if you have tried one of the others for sure is a FP
Suggest: use Sumo portable version (zip icon in the download page)

    @ THESAWISFAMILY2005,

    I agree with Romagnolo1973.
Instead of the full installer with RK (RelevantKnowledge), or the NoRK version with toolbar, you can choose the Portable (zip) version, as Romagnolo1973 suggested, or the Lite version, that has no sponsors/adware also.
The Lite version is the SUMo icon most to the right.
