SUMo : Keep your software up to date

    It's just wait a couple of day that server return 100% online and everything wil be perfectly working as usual

    Hey Kyle, the SUMO database servers seem to be have been down more than they have been up in the last few days. I'm sure JB and I are not the only ones unable to use SUMO as a result. We can't complain TOO much because your software is free, but I believe even free software should be available at least 50% of the time (if possible)...:eek:

    Hello,

    I agree that it seems it has been down more than it has been up recently. What bothers me most is Kyle knows he has an ongoing thread here that is very active and since the problem was originally reported here on April 18, he has only replied to the issue once 24 hours later with "fix in progress". A status report would have been nice or maybe even a message on his website. What about the ones that have visited his website since the problem started and have installed SUMo only to have it not work? A good way to lose customers.....

    Also, a reply to my question regarding the server status message that I have never seen before until now and really would like to know what it means. It made me do an uninstall and fresh install only to keep having the same message.

    A bit more communication would be a very nice thing indeed.....

    Kyle has been really good about replying in the past....sometimes things happen which take some time to fix. I'm sure he isn't enjoying it either. It IS a free app and I appreciate it and his efforts in the past. :)

    Hi,

    My hosting company, OVH ( www.ovh.com ) has jsut deployed a load balancing switch... which seems to be failing most of the time.

    If the situation is not recovered quickly, i'll switch to a backup hosting somewhere else.

    Yep, down for few days, but since this morning it's running like a charm and i'm now up to date, sorry not me my computer:D , but me also:D

    True. However, I figured out recently that the only thing worse than getting old was not getting old, so I have learned to adapt to this situation. o_O

    :thumb: Good attitude. So have I, kdcdq. Going to hit 80 soon and feel 40 most of the time. Only have to adapt some days....lol!

    PS - SUMO is a little different today - will run part way (about halfway) and then indicate server is down. Yesterday it wasn't running past the first two programs. I guess that's progress.

    Bad luck... OVH seems to be struggling to optimize their load balancing...

    I definitively have to put in place a backup hot swap server somewhere else...

    I believe it is back up now - just ran it and everything seems to be working. Thanks again, Kyle. Hope it goes well for you now.

    Update: Still running this morning (Thurs) - great! Thanks again.

    I'm sorry Kyle, but the problem still hasn't been resolved.
    Some days and some moments SUMo works perfectly,
    other days and other moments the server is still very slow.
    So I guess OVH's load balancing is still an issue. Some moments it doesn't affect SUMo, other days or other moments it very much does.
