none. SUMo is just a standalone executable.

OK, but there is both an installer and a portable version of SUMo available. They are both standalone apps, I think, but there must be some difference.

Installer just deploys the same binary content as the portable package :)

So it's more or less the same? Maybe with the exception that automatic updates only work with the installer version.

Edit: The reason I'm asking is because I'm not sure whether Kaspersky also flags the portable version as incompatible or just the installer version of SUMo.

Likely not as it is not able to detect that the SUMo Portable is present (while it basically detects SUMo by scanning the list of installed software in Add/Remove Programs)

Yes, this makes perfect sense, so KIS probably only flags the installed version of SUMo as incompatible. Anyway, all we can do now is wait for the reply from KL.

I got another email from KL support earlier today, and this is what they told me about the alleged incompatibility of SUMo with Kaspersky products:

SUMo was added to the list of incompatible programs for two reasons,
    (1) Old versions of SUMo caused problems during the installation process of KIS products.
Cannot be confirmed here. I've been using this combo for many years without any installation issues.
    (2) SUMo may conflict with the KIS software updater.
Cannot be confirmed here, either. Unfortunately, KL support failed to mention how this conflict might be technically possible. They probably don't know, either.

This is not really a satisfying answer but, to be quite honest, I didn't expect to get anything else.

Don't use Kaspersky but sounds like BS to me ... if so, unethical.

@Kyle_Katarn Looks like the Let's Encrypt certificate for kcsoftwares.com expired today?

Firefox is showing Potential Security Risk warnings for it...

The end date is fixed (11-Jun-2021), but you seem to have a new problem now...
    • Firefox: Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead
    • Safari: This Connection is Not Private ("cdn.ohv.net" certificate name does not match input)

No problem with Firefox on my side... Did you "clear cache" (we've had transient issue with the renewed certs) ?

Yes, my cache gets automatically deleted when I close a browser.

Just to be sure I manually cleared the cache and tried again; same issue.

However, I noticed this when testing:

Same problem here.. www. ok the other not

    Chrome portable doesn't work either:
    NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID
This server could not prove that it is kcsoftwares.com; its security certificate is from cdn.ovh.net. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.

It's the other way round here. The first link, accessed via FF, triggers a certificate-related warning by Kaspersky; the second link works fine with FF.
