well i like ghostwall so far but it still seems to be very unflexible in some areas. so i was wondering if you could consider these suggestions for the newer updates for GW:

1-Possibly an options menu that gives several generalized and advanced settings that can help improve and/or configure GW

2-Minimal outbound protection :p (yeah i know this has been discussed about before, but still :p)

3-Newer, easy-to-use interface that has possibly tabs that lead to other sections of the program (i.e ip blocklist, help, logs etc.)

4-Warning pop-ups for programs so that we can control things a bit more instead of setting relatively vague rules in a rather complicated way. (windows firewall already has this which makes it odd on how gw doesnt)

5-Reconfigure GW's icon in the system tray so that you can right click it and access some basic functions (like open, shutdown, emergency block all, etc.) [note: doing this would probably involve you changing how GW closes (right now it shutsdown completely if u close it on the toolbar with the X)]

6-new defense features :p and improvements on current ones (which i'm sure you will add in, but i'll post it anyway)

7-possibly an update feature implemented into the program?

if anymore come to mind i'll edit this post. i know this seems like a lot to put into GW and that it is freeware, but remember, these are suggestions/a wishlist so i'm not pressuring you to do any of these. btw could this get stickied? i think its about time GW had an official suggestions thread :p (up to you though). i like ghostwall a lot right now (a supporter of it :p) but i'm hoping it could have some of these features to become something even better!

P.S if anybody else wants to add in any updates they want to have on GW which i haven't listed yet, post away on this thread! ;)

    1) Optional integration with GSS would be cool.

    2) Stateful inspection?

An "Enable/Disable Rule" button - better than "Edit" or "Delete", for notebooks needing connecting over several networks, _and_ a security improvment because we could disable some not always needed ports/protocols.
    Great pgm!

I agree with this suggestion. In the meantime, a workaround would be to move the rules you want "disabled" to below your "Block all" rule (if you have one).

    Hi Brinn,
    Please excuse my english.
Thanks for your workaround suggestion, I had already tryed it, before posting. Point this: in GW main page says "Network Rules (processed top to bottom)". So, if I put _unwanted_ rules above "Block All", there is NOT evidence them are blocked, even if this seem to work! And, if I'm using my notebook in several places, other than my home, I don't want some auto-starting apps from my pc infringe network rules.
    Thanks again.
