stupid xp question

    i'm sure this has been asked before, but i'm to drunk to do a thorough search.

    anyways, i realize that when you first install windows, it asks you to set-up a user account, which i did, with admin privileges. now by doing this, i understand that the original administrator account is not visible by default on the windows welcome screen anymore. my question is: what benefits does the original administrators account offer over the account i made with admin privileges? furthermore, i read that (for safety purposes) it is best to create an account that has 'basic user privileges only', for 'everday use'. what is the big security risk over staying logged-in to your windows xp computer under your account created with admin privileges?

    hope this makes sense, as usual.........any help is alway appreciated! :D

    In normal non admin account

    You can't write to Program Files and Windows folder/s
    You can't write to most parts of registry
    You can't install programs

    A virus or trojan has less ways of taking over your PC

    Also do make sure you password protect the default Windows Admin Account.
