stupid auto search in address bar

    I have had this thing turned off forever - and last night my mother tried to use it (she has it on at her home) and it did not work (just like I want) and then today while talking about it (after a restart) the thing auto-searched to MSN... and it's still set to "do not search from address bar" under tools/internet options/advanced!!

    anyone know what gives??
