    Hi there,

I've still got problems with Disk Management.
    Please see attachment.
There is not unallocated space or free space in my hard disk.
    DD10 sees it correctly.
Any idea anybody how to solve this?
    Both operative systems works fine.
I tried to format my hard disk before, and then put everything back together
from images that I created, and everything with Disk Management was fine until I started to create again the partitions.
I wouldn't really like to try to format the hard disk again because my image of Xp called Audio, couldn't boot anymore.
It was only get as far as the welcome screen and that was it.
Maybe because I created Xp Audio using a Winnt32.exe command instead of a new install from the Windows XP CD,(my laptop didn't came with it).
    Any idea about this one?
As suggested from technical support, I use chkdsk /r,to solve the Disk Management issue, but nothing changed.
    Please Help.
Any suggestion or info is welcome, and Many Thanks to all the people that take time to look at my threads and answer.
    Luca

    Hello Luca,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software.

Please create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post and submit a request for technical support. Attach the collected report file and information to your request along with the link to this thread.

Could you please also clarify the following in your request?

    - What partitions have you restored from images? What software have you used for this operation?
    - What partitions have you created using Acronid Disk Director Suite 10.0? If you have not used Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 for this then please clarify how you have performed it?
    - Please describe how you have created the partition for your second operating system (XP Audio) in more details? How did you restore/install this second operating system?

We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.

Hello Kirill, and thanks for your swift answer.

I sent already a report and a scren shot, I'll try to do it again.

Let me try to answer your questions first.

All the operations of creating images or partions or restoring OS images, have been performed using True Image 9 and DD10.

Note that only OS Xp Home C and XP Audio E have been restored from a dvd image.

All the other partitions have been created from scratch from a reformatted hard drive.

The first time from a windows GUI the second time using the Acronis bootable cd programs.

Both time Disk management created exactly the same error.

Here is how I've done the second time.

Formatted the hard disk, created a primary partition in the position that is now, restored C in it,created another primary partiton just before C, restored E in it, re-created all the other partitions from left to right.

Regarding Xp Audio, because the laptop didn't come with the original Xp disk, but only with the restore disks, I used this, to me unknown, workaround.

Open a command prompt from windows C, type cd C:\, cd windows, cd I386,
winnt32.exe. A pop-up menu appears, choose new installation and then is like to install from cd.

Performed the new installation in the previously created primary partition, in my case windows called E.

Used the cmdcoms, at reboot, modified the Boot.ini, reboot in E, everything's fine.

Here is the problem. Created an image of the clean installation E, and when I tried to solve the Disk Management error re-doing everything from outside
windows, I restored E from an image, as i said before, but Xp Audio E would only boot as far as the Xp blue screen, and that's it!!!

I tried to wait to see if needed longer, but not luck.

Boot.ini is the same and it does work because it can boot but it doesn't go as far as that blue screen.

So I had to use my workaround again.

What I'm trying to say is that I'm not going to try to solve the Disk Management issue again unless some kind soul can tell me why my E image doesn't work and certainly not before I tried everything else.

I hope I've manage to explain things a liitle bit better and then maybe You or somebody else have got any idea, suggestion or info.

    Many Thanks
