Steps To PROPERLY Clean an Infected PC ?

    When your PC is heavily infected with malware,

    1. Use TaskKiller to kill unknown stubborn processes running in the background (optional - not recommended for so-called 'computer newbs')
    2. Use ComboFix
    3. Use SDFix. Be sure to use ERUNT to back-up your registry in case anything screws up.
    4. Run Hijackthis. Post log in dedicated forums.
    5. Run Rootkit Revealer or any good anti-rootkit. If there are some drivers or hooks you do not understand, consult the Internet :D

    You can use system virtualization or a stand-alone security setup, or both.
    I recommend you use both. :thumb: :thumb:

    Sometimes when I ain't got nothing to do I copy and paste other forum's posted hijackthis logs into the link below to see how my own analysis matches up.

    Should only be used as a rough guide and is no substitute for an experts help.

    Thats a great idea Franklin.
    Will start to do so, in order to train my eye...
    I have used that page before, and sometimes it shows FP's...
