    hi,
when i try to download (with the firewall of ess on) or update a game through steam (www.steampowered) the download speed does not exeed 5 kb/s.

But when i disable the firewall of ess rc1 the download speed comes back to normal and i can download at full speed.

    thanks

    Marc

    Hi.

Do you have an "Allow" rule for that connection in the firewall rule section ?

If not put the firewall on interactive mode and start the download then you will get an promt then press allow for that connection. Otherwise i don't know.

    Hi Again

i have done like this first

open ESS and press: Setup, personal firewall, configure rules and zones.
Then find STEAM and allow it on BOTH directions in/out

+steam the press the + that is before steam,
then you see "allow communication for steam.exe" make that blue by pressing it
then a bit down you see "EDIT" press that and allow steam in BOTH
directions, and this did work for me otherwise i don't no sorry, but maybe someone else no if this doesent work.

And ALLOW the GAME you are going to play through steam in BOTH directions as well.

Not a good screenshot but this is how to do :)

Go to the Web access protection setup - HTTP - Web browsers and put "x" to the box next to the application you want to exclude from content filtering.

    hi,
    I'v tried it same result.
The problem is not coming from the web access module but from the firewall module. When i disable filtering in the firewall setup all is back to normal(note that the web access module is turned on) but firewall off.

    thanks

I wasn't asking for myself. However when help is asked for on the forum and the solution is found, it is just courteous to post it for others. This is in case they have the same problem.
