Running trial version of NOD32 AV on Vista 32 bit. Since installation, running NOD32 has added 30-35 seconds to start-up, as the splashscreen sits on the desktop for that length of time while the program loads. Tried disabling "check system files" on start-up, but made no difference. Also disabled the splashscreen, but still 30 seconds after everything else loaded for Eset icon to appear in system tray. Anyone encountering the same problem (I ran the RC-1 of ESS before installing the final AV, and the startup was a matter of a few seconds). Yes, did a proper uninstall of ESS RC before loading the AV only. Thanks, LP
Try killing the XP "WebClient" service.... Can't explain it, but we had to shut it down to get the Nod32krn service to run at reboot. We could start it manually, but it timed-out at reboot with WebClient service running. Still have the open case with Eset; hope they find a bug and kill it with an axe.
Re: Startup time--neverrr-minnnddd Sorry, I was so anxious to rant about our problem, I just noticed your post says VISTA. WebDAV components are probably scattered all over that thing!
