    Hi

it does, automatically. Do you ahev an icon bottom-right showing the ESET GUI? And is there a Windows service called ESET Service?

What makes you think that it's not running?

I know its not running at boot because the icon at the bottom right of the task bar (notification area) does not show up. Also it does not show up in my task manager. I have to activate it manually.

If that doesn't work, you can manually add the startup in the registry, startup folder, or task scheduler.
Avast somehow doesn't work properly in the registry for me, so I've added it to my startup folder, and now it works fine.
