It isn't based on popups - it doesn't even run in real-time. It mainly protects IE and FF (if anything else...) and other browsers running any of those engines. It's based on making your system "immune", by for example (if I understand this correctly...) create a false file, like a tracking cookie for example, making a malicious webpage believe that the system is already infected, or SpywareBlaster will still block all malicious content altogether - only that it's not in real-time, but a permanent method.

    .
For your information there is a section in this forum dedicated to Javacool products, so this thread may be moved.

Be aware that SpywareBlaster is not a resident anti-malware. It protects by adding known bad sites to the Restricted Sites zone and by blocking bad cookies & ActiveX controls. You will never receive a notification from it when you're not actively running the GUI.

In any case they need to add: m.webtrends.com to bad tracker cookie list...

There is other programs that work like spyblaster for free too. Advance System Care Free. I really don't care for that suite but it's 100% freeware it has a section that dumps and protects your IE and FF the same way that Spyware Blaster does. Plus it also has spyware detection and it also can remove spyware, it's like all-on-one program. The only thing I like is the add-on Smart Defrag works on Server OS with Automatic Schedule.

Still have to update the defs manually on the free version the pro is automatic.
