I keep on getting spyware from find-quick.com and it doesn't seem to be on the spywareBlaster database. It is driving me crazy. Any suggestions?

    Hi Cindy,

That sounds like lop.com to me. Since this particular spyware uses random CLSID´s mostly it is hard to get full protection against it from SpywareBlaster alone.

Could you post your HijackThis log
Download, Unzip and run HijackThis. Then click Scan > Save log, save the log as a .txt file and copy & paste its content into your next post.
Don´t fix anything yet. Most of what it finds is harmless.

Just so I can check if the infection is active.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Hi Cindy,

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Reboot after doing so, preferably into safe mode
    and delete:
    C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\username\APPLICATION DATA\oaglouzs.exe

This one: mscache[1].exe also has to go, but that is best done by clearing your temporary internet files.

Although everything is disabled after the reboot I would advise to download Spybot - Search & Destroy
After installing, first press Online, and search for, put a check mark at, and install all updates.
Next, close all IE windows, hit 'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot remove all it marks in red.

    Or, download Ad-Aware at lavasoft.usa.com
After installing AAW, and before running the program, update by using the Globe icon.
    Shut down and restart Ad-Aware.
Now press "Scan Now", "Select drives\folders to scan" and select the active partition (usually C: ), then 'next', and let Ad-Aware scan your drives.
It will find a number of "bad" files and registry keys. Click 'Next' again.
Rightclick in that pane and choose "select all and click 'next'.
It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.
    Finally, close Ad-Aware, and reboot.

Doing so will also remove the orphaned registry keys and some files we left behind.

    Regards,

    Pieter
