spyware stormer

I just scanned both my computers and spybot found spyware stormer on both. I know this is a rogue. I'm very careful about what gets installed and am wondering could this be a false positive?

Since the spyware stormer entries are being found by the beta.sbi file set(which is used for internal testing of new stuff only by Beta testers and\or other folks involved in testing the Beta)....I would not call it a False positive and would not be overly concerned by this find. In fact....my recommendation to others has been to un-check the beta.sbi file set via Mode\Advanced Mode\Settings\File Sets from further scanning....IMHO.

As was noted in that thread....very mis-leading to be referring to what's found as a False Positive and that thread should have been placed in the Beta Forum since it's not an FP.

 

Well . .I have NO clue how STORMER got into my computer .. but at suggestions of sooooo many .. did a lot of things .. like run %temp% & windows prefetch .. DELETED all .. delete protected .. NOTHING worked .. found TONS of sites I never visited in registtry .. PORN stuff .. today .. I followed a suggestion (after booting up and searching registry . finding spyware storner search iGuard something called Searchasst and Actor . I removed them ALL) .. then found that spybotS&D had (or this was prior . dunno?) .. still had SS in there (immunized BUT each time I ran it . would only show like 767 or something and to reimmunize to get them all).. soooo TOTALLY removed spybotS&D .. and I mean totally .. add/remove .. then searched for REST .. removed it all .. downloaded it again .. having messed with registry and deleting all that SEX crap last night . JUST dumped all HISTORY and whatever else I could find .. DOWNLOADED fresh copy of Spybot S&D .. reboot .. ran it .. <B>Congratulations, all Clear </b> .. that seems to be as it is AT the moment .. dunno what shall happen later though? ..

Ohhh . also was weird LOGS in there .. also immunized but hanging ON to spybot S&D folder .. thus the total removal of it ..
