I hope this is the right place to post this question. I have started using Spyware Guard and it seems more often then not, when I open the counsel to check for updates I notice that the "Download Protection" is disabled. I re-enable it and save the settings and later I'll find the same thing. Can anyone tell me why and how to fix it. I also use Spyware Blasted Spyware Guard starts in my startup msconfig program.
    Thank you.

Thanks snowbound. I have been using Star Downloader for some time and been pleased with it, but after reading the other thread, it appears that the protection stays checked as long as I don't use SD and then reboot. I can reproduce the action now at will.
I downloaded a new accelerator called DAP75 and it seems to not effect Spyware Guard.
Thanks for the help and I hope this has fixed the problem and maybe others can benefit from my experience.
