No such alerts and there are no blacklisted applications and I also found that shift key is also not working. I am uninstalling it.

Check the white/black list for red down the left side. You can also try within the white/black lists running a purge to see if you have any rules created that no longer need to exist.

Windows x64 do not allow SSDT hooks due to Patch Guard. So unfortunately, there is no such tool exists as there is no such requirement.

There were no applications listed red. Only there were rules created automatically for explorer.exe, Adobe, Sandboxie and MS Office applications. I could not try the rules purge option now as I had removed Spyshelter. I will try this app again if there is a new version update.

sandboxie fits my "small is beautiful" outlook.
the less "moving parts" the less chance of a breakdown. ;)

    Hi:
Too bad spyshelter does not offer their free version for 64bit:( It is weired that they kept the 64 bit for paid only? never seen any other software with 64bit support do this way. Other softwares usualy provide both 32 and 64 in their free versions.

Yes, not SSDT hooks and other kernel hooks, but user mode hooks are allowed if I'm correct.

This is because some modules like AntiNetworkSpy which separates the Premium version from the free version doesn't work in 64 bit systems due to KPP and if they offer a free 64 bit version, there wouldn't be much difference left between the free and the Premium version.:)

You probably had the security settings set to block auto block suspicious behavior.

How does SpySheleter Premium holds on resources in XP?
The last time I trial'd it,the popups began to appear quite frequently.
Does it need to be put in a learning mode?

Its great on Win7. I hit 20Mbs tops. Pop ups are quite frequent, but that can be lessened by auto allowing Microsoft signed drivers. The initial configuration could be a bear if you have alot of things going on, but once its configured you rarely get new pop ups unless you install a new program that needs clipboard, webcam, keyboard, etc capabilities.

    Thanks for the details whitedragon551.
Guess I will try it out very soon.

Do I need to setup or apply any specific configurations, settings, etc. or is it just the factory based settings only?
How is SS Premium compatibility with other security softwares?

Sorry for asking too many questions.

I had never heard of Spyshelter until two days ago when it was mentioned by two of our members in the AVG 2011 thread. Their comments were very impressive and backed up in a kind reply by one member to my PM. I did search the Forum, but found little, so raised a thread.

Our GM Cudni kindly listed several threads covering SS, killed mine and I am now here.

I have read this thread`s most informative posts and am now somewhat confused as to whether this product is Good, Bad or Ugly.

I did install it two days ago and so far have not had a single problem. I don`t even know it is there, but it is definitely working properly.

I am appealing for somebody with experience of SS to analyse the comments made and summarise the "report" such that one can see at a glance the merits, compatibilities, conflicts with other software and problems of this program, so that a collective decision can be made by anyone contemplating using SS, without the confusion and contradictions of individual posts.

I thank you kindly in advance.
    John
PS - My own primary programs are listed in my signature.

Thanks jmonge. Now THAT comment is a definite YES vote.

Whilst I am no stranger to highly technical, mathematical and semi-scientific practices, I am a self confessed Mr.Average at all this PC jazz. After reading this most interesting thread, I am left wondering if the package is Friend or Foe.
Will it go BANG or can I open it ?
